Today is Go Red For Woman Day! The American Heart Association asks that you wear red today to show your awareness and support. Heart disease believe it or not is #1 killer among women. What you gonna eat Wednesday

Ok, so I was told that I need to get my blog back up and going so here it is. Today is National Homemade Soup day. So I thought I would share a recipe for a homemade soup with everyone. Being that it is a whole 13 degrees here soup would be good for dinner so here it goes...

Family Favorite Vegtable Soup

prep time 45 minutes
makes 6(11/2cup)servings

1lb lean ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
4 small red potatoes,unpeeled,
cut into 1/2-inch cubes
4 cups water
1(14.5oz) diced tomatoes,undrained
2 tablespoons beef flavored instant bouillon
1/2 teaspoon dried basil leaves
1/4teaspoon dried thyme leaves
1/4teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons ketchup
1(1lb) pkg mixed vegtables

In a large saucepan or dutch oven, combine ground beef and onion, cook over medium high heat until beef is browned and throughly cooked stirring frequently. Drain well. Add all remaining ingredients except frozen vegtables,mix well. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer 10minutes, stirring occasionally. Add frozen vegtables ,cover and simmer an additional 8to 10minutes or until vegtables are tender. Enjoy

Serve with warm bread and a salad for a healthy and warm dinner.
